In Chicago, the cafes inside museums, botanical gardens and visitor centers are a good option on a day out, and city parks often host a coffee cart or a seasonal concession stand. Across Illinois, state and national parks list their concession hours online and close early outside the summer season. Check the listing for hours, admission requirements and the Google rating, and use the main cafe and bakery categories for everyday coffee, since the places here are grouped by location rather than by what they serve.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

A highly unprofessional and unresponsive team with predatory business practices. Do not recommend allowing them to route via your condo to expand their network with no true support for you. Google installed equipment on our roof without notifying us after contract, and then had failed to set up the agreed house accounts - while spamming our residents with mailings to sign up for wifi.

The condo building that I live in very recently switched to Google Fiber Webpass. The monthly cost is being built into the assessments so there was no decision to be made. I set up an appointment to have my unit switched over at 9am this morning. My tech Chris arrived exactly on time and was very efficient and professional. He replaced the connection box in my front closet by my router. No mess or hassle. I was able to keep my current router which is great because I don't have to re-assign all my devices to a new router and password. Chris did speed tests at various locations and confirmed that the signal was excellent and would be many times faster than my previous provider. He also stuck around to make sure that all of my questions were answered and that my devices and my TV worked great with the new service. I am looking forward to consistently high speeds with great reliability.

Overall, Google does well with this service. They get 4.5/5 for customer service. They're quick to respond and fix issues and their automated systems keep you updated along the way. I had some trouble getting my service cancelled when I moved, but that was due to their agent not following proper procedure, but they acknowledged that which is a rarity in massive companies. I give the internet itself a 3/5. When it works, it's fast as you can expect. I was getting 600-700 Mbps Down / 700-900 Mbps Up. HOWEVER, because they utilize microwave radio transmission in some parts of their network, you can expect degraded and disconnected internet when it rains or snows as these waves can be absorbed by precipitation. This isn't great because those are the times when you are indoor-bound and more likely to be streaming movies, etc. This is a technical limitation that I think they need a solution for or they will lose a share of customers to cable companies.

Internet service has been on and off for the past two plus weeksβ¦either degraded or just offline. Though there were a couple of days with poor weather, the rest should not affect service to this degree. If you call into the number regarding your service, youβll reach first level offshore support staff that cannot help diagnose an issue outside of turning it on and off, which is common sense and most folks try before even calling in. Additionally, they tried to tell me that there were no outages until I pushed and stated the entire building was having issues, at which point they acknowledged my service was indeed out. Once I asked to be escalated to a manager, I still could not get any details on why our service had been completely offline despite having sent out a tech the day before because they donβt have access to those details. There is no onshore escalation (or rather any escalation) after that because the second level managers donβt take phone calls. Asked for an official complaint form to be provided details that put me back into the customer service queue. Subsequently reached out to the social media team via IG on Fridayβ¦they are perfectly nice but that really does not m

Goes out randomly (itβs out right now and itβs 55 and sunny) but almost always with rain, wind, etc. The speed is decent but not impressed since itβs unstable. Not acceptable when people work from home in a city like Chicago. Disappointed and actually get notices about βdegradedβ service regularly. So terrible I went back to Xfinity, still awaiting my refund 6 weeks later.
